Yaffa is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of
clinical experience. She helps remarried couples with children build and
strengthen happy stepfamilies. Yaffa is former president of the Los
Angeles Chapter of the Stepfamily Association of America, and sat on its
board for over 10 years, during which she designed and facilitated
numerous educational programs for stepfamilies.
Yaffa observed that remarried couples with one or more former spouses
who experience a high conflict relationship also had an adversarial
divorce. She concluded that a peaceful divorce will improve the chances
of a more successful stepfamily, and better adjusted children.
Yaffa empowers her clients in their divorce processes and in their
lives. She coaches individuals in establishing manageable and achievable
goals for their lives and their families. Additionally, she helps her
clients gain clarity of their thoughts and feelings, so that they can
make the best possible choices during the complex process of divorce.
Yaffa is also a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. Somatic
Experiencing is a naturalistic trauma healing method especially
effective in recovering from child abuse, car accidents, terrorist
attacks, and divorce.
