Kerttu Cantin is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Long Beach. Her practice focuses on assisting children and families create better relationships. In addition to individual therapy, she also conducts pre-marital and marital counseling for couples.
As part of her practice, Kerttu also participates in collaborative divorce mediations. She understands that many couples want their divorce to have a minimal impact on the parties involved, especially children. Kerttu therefore assists them in an effort to minimize the negative effects of divorce on all family members. As a Collaborative Divorce Coach and Collaborative Child Specialist, Kerttu plays an important role in guiding the parties into the most amicable solution for their particular situation.
Kerttu received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with Honors, from California State University Dominguez Hills. She also received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, with an option in Marriage and Family Therapy, from California State University Dominguez Hills.
Prior to starting her private practice, Kerttu was a counselor and team leader at Florence Crittenton Residential Group Home in Fullerton, a Therapeutic Behavior Specialist at Olive Crest Residential Treatment Center in Santa Ana, and a Social Worker, Clinician, and Administrative Supervisor at ChildNet Youth and Family Services in Long Beach. In these positions, her primary focus was on children and their families.
Kerttu’s professional affiliations include memberships in the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the Orange County Chapter of CAMFT. She is also Chief Financial Officer for the Long Beach-South Bay Chapter of CAMFT. In addition, Kerttu is a member of the Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law association and the International Association of Collaborative Professionals.
